Most small-business sites lose rankings on the same handful of fixable basics. Here they are.

You do not need a big budget to fix the issues that quietly hold a small-business site back. In audit after audit, the same six basics come up. Here is what to check.
The title tag is still one of the strongest on-page signals. Every page needs a unique, descriptive title of roughly 50 to 60 characters that includes what the page is actually about.
Each page should have exactly one clear H1 that states the topic. Multiple H1s or a missing one muddy the signal for search engines and AI alike.
A page with fifty words rarely ranks. Answer the real questions a buyer has, in enough depth to be useful, and lead with the answer.
Internal links spread authority and help people (and crawlers) find your important pages. Link related pages to each other on purpose, not by accident.
Oversized images are the most common cause of a slow site. Compress them, size them correctly, and set width and height to avoid layout shift.
Schema markup helps Google and AI engines understand your pages and can earn rich results. At minimum, add Organization, and add FAQ or Course markup where it fits.
